Top 10 Sitcoms Of The Past 20 Years

Sitcoms have become a staple on Television since it’s creation. In the last 20 years there have been many memorable ones that have been aired. Personally, I don’t think you can go wrong with these

Friends: Great comedy about a bunch of friends in New York. With stars like Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow it is hard to go wrong. It ran for ten seasons.

Seinfeld: A huge hit for its nine season run, and actually is a show about nothing. Most of the most popular episodes revolved around the “soup Nazi,” puffy shirt, or my personal favorite, the bet.

The Office: The original version of this show was in the UK and created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The version that is enormously popular in the United States stars Rainn Wilson and until last season, Steve Carr

Two and a Half Men: A different spin on the Odd Couple mechanic. The show revolves around three characters, two brothers (Alan and Charlie) as well as Alan’s son, Jake. The conflicts in personality make this show. It was actually called “the biggest comedy hit of the past decade” by the New York Times.

Simpsons: Who doesn’t love the Simpsons? This wonderfully dysfunctional family has been around for over 20
years and still going strong!

30 Rock: A hilarious series created by Tina Fey. It is actually loosely based on her time on Saturday Night Live.

Scrubs: Shows you the lives of several employees of Sacred Heart Hospital from the character and narrator, Dr J.D. Dorrian.

Arrested Development: The show centers around the dysfunctional Bluth family that used to be wealthy. Jason
Bateman built his comeback using this series.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: This show is fun because the show is largely improvised. There is a basic framework to the show’s episode but that is about it.

How I Met Your Mother: This show is basically a giant flashback of how Ted Mosby met his kids’ mother. Very funny show that stars Josh Radner, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alyson Hannigan.
